In June 2001, Borden opened her first gallery, Juleez Artique’s in the historic seaside village of Watch Hill, Rhode Island, following with her second waterside gallery located in Wickford, Rhode Island, in February 2003. In March of 2005, Julie relocated to the arts district of Philadelphia, PA known as Old City, where she opened a combination painting studio and gallery, taking part in the First Friday Art Walk.  During a trip to Rehoboth Beach in May 2009 with partner Guy Peluso, the couple decided to relocate to the area and make it home. A month later, Juleez opened, a block off the boardwalk on Rehoboth’s well known Baltimore Avenue.  “We’ve had just a terrific response to the artwork since moving here, and we couldn’t be more pleased” Borden said.  In January 2012, Juleez relocated to 1 North First Street, (at the corner of First Street and Rehoboth Ave.) moving into a larger space, after 3.5 years.  "Rehoboth's vibrant community has a strong arts draw", Peluso said.  Juleez is also a member of MOSAIC, Rehoboth Beach’s, Second Saturday Art Walk, a year round event.

Julie’s dynamic paintings continue to evolve with her use of color and style, enticing viewers to explore new and sophisticated compositions and techniques. Bold imagery, colors and patterns merge with worlds of fantasy, surrealistic shapes and detailed compositions.  Musical themes, graphics and contemporary themes combine with amazing blends of color, shape and pattern to instantly draw the viewer into the private world of the artist.  New directions continue to keep Borden as an innovator of the unique. Commissioned works are another one of Julie’s strengths, and she works on them year round for clients throughout the United States.
