ASYM President, Jarvee Hutcherson contacted Philadelphia, PA artist,
Julie Borden and asked Borden to be this year’s featured
visual artist on the ASYM House Of Blues Benefit Concert Award
Show, program cover. Borden said she was thrilled to be asked and
to be offered the opportunity, having also participated in the
event 2 years ago. ASYM President, Hutcherson selected the image, “Jazz
Time Show” to be this years program cover art that features
Borden’s colorful palette with a whimsical play of silhouetted
musicians, curvy piano keyboards and graphic elements.
In addition to being selected as the cover artist, Borden is donating
to the ASYM Silent Auction, a signed, limited-edition lithograph
entitled, “The Conversation”, a print of the cover
artwork, “Jazz Time Show” and gift items. From her
signature brand of art-inspired Juleez™ giftware and accessories
collections, auction participants can bid on a truly unique offering
from the artist that also includes a Jazz collection teapot, sugar
and creamer set, Juleez Funky Folks™ 3D sculpted hairbrushes.
Original artwork and the Juleez™ collections may be viewed
at her website, www.juleez.com.
This isn’t the first celebrity event Borden has taken part
in. In March 2003, Borden attended and participated in the annual
Night Of 100 Stars Oscar Viewing Gala, the star-studded benefit
for Martin Scorse’s Film Preservation Foundation, taking
place at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Borden was selected to be the
featured artist for the celebrity gift bags and exhibited her original
paintings at the at the high profile event. ASYM members had attended
the event also and contacted Borden after the show.
Borden’s multi-faceted abilities and dynamic paintings and
designs have led national and global companies to license Borden's
original artwork, and collectors of the work are found throughout
the United States. Companies including Dayton Hudson Corp, Herdoo’s,
Amscan, Gibraltar Publishing, and Season’s Catalog have only
continued to spur Borden's non-stop art licensing sector of her
career. Pacific-Enterprise, LLC., located in Orlando, Florida currently
offers 6 of the Julie Borden, Juleez™ signature design collections
that include dinnerware, collectibles, and giftware. Pacific-Enterprise
is also Borden's licensee for her well-known line of sculpted hairbrushes,
previously licensed by HerDoo's.
2005 continues to be a busy year for Borden, having just relocated
from Providence, RI to Philadelphia. Borden resides in the arts
district area known as Old City, located in the historic district
of Philadelphia. Borden owned two fine art & fine craft galleries
in Rhode Island and is currently looking into opportunities for
exhibiting her artwork in Philadelphia, since her arrival last
month. Creating original paintings, furniture, ceramics and designing
her signature Juleez™ brand of dinnerware, gifts and home
accent pieces keeps the professional artist happy and very busy.
